A NEW 30 700 TDW VESSEL HAS JOINED NAVIBULGAR’S FLEET
On 11th April 2012, Navibulgar took delivery of the sixth 30700 TDW vessel built in the Shanhaiguan shipyard, China. Ms Gergana Markova – an employee of  Navibulgar became the godmother of the vessel, giving her  the name “RODOPI” at an  official naming ceremony. The first captain is Nikolay Nikolov, and the first Chief Engineer – Pavlin Yordanov.  Nikolay Nikolov was the first captain of “Strandja”,  Pavlin Yordanov  - the first Chief Engineer of “Vitosha” – the vessels being the first two of the series. These  two professionals with proven experience took the delivery of the next 4 ships.  Thus, Navibulgar now operates a fleet of 6 sister bulk carriers: Vitosha (2010), Strandja (2010), Osogovo (2011) Belasitsa (2011), Lyulin (2011) and Rodopi (2012). All of them are built to an ice class, meaning they have sufficient strength, engine power and equipment to operate in the northern ice conditions. They are also  “Lakers” type, so they can operate in the Great  Lakes.
