The flag of the 3rd vessel in Navibulgar history, named Sakar, has been raised

Today, February 18, 2025, the flag of the 11th from the series 32.000 tonne bulk carrier m/v “ Sakar” has been raised at the Chinese shipyard Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding Co.
Mrs. Denitsa Pencheva- Kanchev, a Chartering operator, is the godmother to the bulk carrier m/v Sakar. This vessel is the 3rd one in Navibulgar’s history named after Sakar mountain.
Captain Nikola Todorov and engineer Dimitar Stefanov are her first master and chief engineer accordingly.
The first Sakar was a 11 034 tdw Liberty-class ore-carrier built in New Orleans, USA, in 1945.
She was serving in Navibulgar fleet from 1964 to 1972.
On June 18,1995, the flag of the second Sakar was raised. The lady was a 20 000 dwt bulk carrier built in Varna.
Her maiden voyage was under the command of captain Zhelyazko Zhelyazkov from Burgas to Italy. Engineer Mihail Mihailov was her first chief engineer accordingly.
She was serving in Navibulgar fleet until 2018.
