Naming ceremony of the 10th from the series of fifteen 32,000 tonne bulk carrier m/v Kamenitza
Today, January 09, 2025, the flag of the 10th from the series 32.000 tonne bulk carrier m/v “ Kamenitza” has been raised at the Chinese shipyard Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding Co.
Mrs. Reni Decheva, a former Human Resources Manager of Navibulgar, is the godmother to the lake fitted bulk carrier m/v Kamenitza.
Captain Mariyan Yotov and engineer Dimitar Dimitrov are her first master and chief engineer accordingly.
On October 03, 1980, under the command of captain Ivan Delchev the flag of the first Kamenitza (KAMENITZA - ІМО 8006256) was raised.The lady was a 24 150 dwt bulk carrier built in Varna, a sister from the “Balkan” series, but a lake fitted vessel as per the requirements of the US and the Canadian seaway authorities for sailing in the Great Lakes of North America.
She was serving in Navibulgar fleet until July 14th, 2012 when she was sold for scrapping.
The second vessel Kamenitza was serving in Navibulgar fleet from 2015 to 2020.
The lady was a 32 600 tdw bulk carrier built in Liaoning Hohgguang Shipbuilding Co. Ltd, Panjin, China.
Captain Strahil Ivanov and engineer Todor Dimov were her first master and chief engineer.
